Thanksgiving Trek '08

One car. 13 hours. 8 DVDs. 81S (forever) = Southern Thansgiving.

That's right folks. We packed up the 'ole Yukon on November 21st and first headed to the land of country music and Dolly Parton on our mission into the deep south for Turkey Day.

We made it to Nashville on Friday night and spent the next two days slaving away helping Aunt Laura make her country pad more homey. Don't worry, we had a little fun too...

Ava & AL...

Her abode...

On Sunday, Aunt Ninny & Lola picked the kids and I up in Nashville and drove us to Birmingham. Daddy stayed behind to help Aunt Laura paint. He doesn't do it often :-)!
Ninny...poised and calm. This was the beginning of the week...

Uncle Coo...Reading Extraordinaire... Ava with her snuggle buddy.

The Turkey Day Side Dish Cooks...
Ninny mid-week...notice how she coped with the chaos...
The prime-rib roaster and his side kick...
Max waiting for "Ninner"...
Daddy...with too much flash. All the more reason to get a digital SLR...
View from Ninny's living room...

We headed home the Saturday after Tday. Full of the best BBQ Alabama had to offer. There's nothing wrong with pulled pork 5 days in a row...
Tuesday evening, we had Tday dinner number #2 at Memo and Pops. After a wonderful dinner, Memo played piano while A&M ran around for an hour.
The pupils...
Memo listening to "chapsticks" by Ava...

Musical carpet Squares...don't ask.
And then we crashed. Literally.

All in all it was 10 days of fun, BBQ, family, road rage and just plain craziness.
I wouldn't have had it any other way.
