We weren't sure we sure we could make this into something attractive and functional. A sledgehammer and a crowbar might work, but just a paintbrush?
Chris had his doubts and grumbled about me wanting to "brighten" up the space. Which meant painting every square inch of cabinets, spraying old hinges and hours (read: weeks) of work.
The kitchen is "done" for now except for painting the exterior doors. It's functional and attractive and a great space where everyone hangs.
Future phases are swimming around in my head.
A big island with a butcher block top, glazed cabinets, a farmhouse sink...
I could conceivably keep my general contractor (aka Papa) busy making cabinets for years. But those funds are tied up in daycare for now!
We started tackling the living room this week. More to come!

Yay kitchen!!!!
Wow! Huge difference! It really did brighten it up with the paint color. Even the light fixture looks brand new even though it's the same, right? Great job guys!
